Support for youth entrepreneurial initiatives in 21 municipalities of Georgia has reached a new stage. As part of the "Youth Entrepreneurship for Rural Development" (RDYE) project, participants living in the regions have been attending an intensive training course for several months.
The project team and invited trainers are sharing practical aspects of business management with local youth across various corners of Georgia.
Practical Training and Preparation for BET
The learning process is interactive: through simulation games and real-life examples, participants first master entrepreneurial thinking and basic principles.
This initial stage serves as a bridge to one of the main challenges of the project - the BET (Business Entrepreneurship Training) phase. It is at this stage that participants transition to the practical development of their ideas in order to:
Diverse Environment and New Opportunities
The project is distinguished by high social responsibility and inclusivity. The training sessions involve youth aged 18-35, including women (accounting for more than half of the participants), representatives of ethnic and religious minorities, IDPs, eco-migrants, and individuals living in high-mountain settlements.
The ultimate outcome of the process will be the creation of more than 65 new enterprises or the expansion of existing businesses across both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors.
For MFO SCAPP, as one of the financial partners of the project, the progress of each participant is of utmost importance. Increasing youth economic activity in the regions and realizing their entrepreneurial potential directly impacts the sustainable development of rural areas and the country as a whole.
About the Partners
The Rural Development through Youth Entrepreneurship (RDYE) project is implemented by Mercy Corps Georgia. Phase II of the project is funded by International Partnerships Austria and supported by MFO SCAPP and Socar Georgia Petroleum.
